The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Sketch To Shelf – Black’ pays tribute to the Air icon’s historic creation with a look inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch from July 26, 1986. The August 2019-released shoe features a matte black upper with symbols and notes in Hatfield’s handwriting. Hatfield’s detail-oriented practice is evident in measurements and phrases including ‘Add U-Throat’ and ‘Faster Toe Box.’ The words ‘Sample, Property of Nike, Not For Resale’ can be seen on the sockliner, lending an exclusive feel.
